Don’t go nuts over energy bills!

Uncategorized No Comments

With energy prices rising at an alarming rate and showing no signs of slowing down, it is now even more important for SME’s (Small medium enterprises) to ensure that any opportunities to save are not squandered. One opportunity you may not be very familiar with is Voltage Management.

The theory behind voltage management is simple. There is a difference between the voltage supplied to a building and the voltage appliances are designed to operate at more efficiently. On average the voltage across UK business is 242V (420V three phase) and due to electrical equipment being manufactured to work across the European Union, this means that the optimum operating voltage required by electrical equipment to work most efficiently is more around 220V and 230V. This overvoltage not only costs more, but it also shortens the life of electrical equipment. The surplus voltage produces additional heat, noise, and vibration, it also causes stress on electrical equipment (particularly motors) and can damage electronic systems like computers and LED lighting which are more vulnerable to overvoltage and fail much sooner. An EnergyAce voltage optimisation system ensures that a building only consumes the energy it needs rather than additional energy due to overvoltage supplied from the grid. It does this by optimising the incoming voltage, lowering electricity consumption, to reduce electricity bills, and reduce the wear and tear on electrical equipment.

Benefits of Voltage Management include

  • Reduces Electricity bills by Up To 20%.
  • Works on all circuits within a building all day every day.
  • Simple installation – Usually around 1 hour with no need to change your electricity supplier.
  • Increases the life of electrical equipment.
  • Can be installed alongside Solar PV and improves efficiency of heat pumps and renewable systems.
  • No maintenance required.
  • Guaranteed savings.
  • 15-year warranty.

To summarise, a Voltage Optimiser acts as a control valve to only take from the grid what is required. This increased level of control prolongs equipment lifespan, lowers how much a company pay on their energy bills and reduces CO2 minimising an SME’s carbon footprint.

But don’t just take our word for it! Here is what the Electrical Contractors Association says about the technology. “Voltage optimisation is one of the key new business opportunities for electrical contractors. The range, types, and size of buildings that can benefit from the savings voltage optimisation can deliver, makes it a great opportunity for consumers and our members.”

EnergyAce SafeContractor Accreditation

Uncategorized No Comments

Local business, EnergyAce, has been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace for the eighteenth year.

The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Gemma Archibald, Chief Operating Officer of Alcumus SME said: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that EnergyAce has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

Fuel Poverty Awareness Day 2021

Uncategorized No Comments

Today is Fuel Poverty Awareness Day 2021.

EnergyAce are proud supporting members of National Energy Action (NEA) and their work to combat fuel poverty is truly admirable.

Fuel Poverty refers to houses that are not able warm there home. This is a luxury that many of us take for granted. Factors like rising energy costs, low incomes and energy-inefficient homes are restricting people’s options, leaving them in impossible situations like having to choose to heat their home, feed their children or pay their rent. These are choices no one should ever have to make.

There is a statutory target for all houses in the UK to reach EPC C (Energy Performance Certificate) rating by 2030, however this is a long time to wait for houses with low income. This is why it is so essential that people become more aware of the issues faces with Fuel Poverty.

Today find out how you can help today go to the NEA website by clicking here.

EnergyAce offer a comprehensive maintenance service for all ABB power factor correction systems with fixed price 3-year maintenance agreements and single service or repair visits to ensure your ABB power factor correction system is operating correctly and offering 100% of the original energy savings.

With the cost of energy rising disproportionally for many when compared to associated cost of operating a business, there has never been a better time to ensure energy savings systems like ABB power factor correction is fully functional.

Maintenance of ABB Power Factor Correction
ABB power factor correction maintenance

For many, Power Factor Correction systems are installed within the main electrical distribution room along with the associated switchgear and although the systems may be periodically inspected for safety, it requires a specialist to assess for correct operation and effectiveness in saving energy which is where EnergyAce can help with planned preventative or reactive maintenance of all types of power factor correction, all makes, all models including ABB power factor correction systems.

The cost of annual maintenance may only be a fraction of the lost savings due to malfunction or deterioration of capacitors as electrical efficiency is reduced.

EnergyAce are a national award-winning company and manufacturer of power quality systems like power factor correction and associated switchgear, we have received multiple awards over our near 20 year history and are accredited with Safe Contractor, ECA (Electrical Contractors Association) Technical Excellence, ISO9001 and retain membership of the Manufacturers Alliance & Chamber Low Carbon.
